Motion & Energy
"We envision the path for the future by developing innovative functions and components together with smart software to create the most value for the customer"
What do we do?
We are the System Provider for all aspects of Motion and Energy usage in a vehicle, thus ensuring that the driver and passenger’s expectations on drivability are met under all driving conditions. By incorporating the cross-functional teams from within our organization, and at the same time coordinating with GRI, GPRI and external suppliers, we integrate functions and components to design and deliver systems that fulfill the customer/rider expectations. Unlike a traditional engineering center or an OEM, we are capable of enhancing our deliveries by integrating several aspects with the common goal of meeting customer demands for Motion and Energy. We consist of five main units:
Battery & HV Electronics
We are developing & integrating systems and parts for electrified architectures & vehicles: The battery, the charging system and the power conversion system. We are also responsible for functions related to the above. We have attribute responsibility for the complete high voltage (HV) system e.g., to ensure that all components work together including related functions. We are partly responsible for the development of the SW for the battery and we validate in HIL rigs and complete vehicles. We consist of three teams: Cell/Module/Pack, HV & BM System and HV Electronics/Charging/Testing.
Propulsion
Our Vision is to deliver rapid engineering solutions for future mobility applications. We specify requirements for Propulsion Components incl. forward-looking activities to optimize the system. We lead/drive the initial Release of the components for J1. We define & validate innovative solutions that provide enhanced efficiency, cost of ownership, reduced mass and improved NVH for future platform use. We are Technical Specialists and Single point of contact for all relevant components for J1+ as well as CAE Lead for Motion & Energy. We consist of three teams: CAE Motion, Electric Drive, and EDU Mechanical.
Thermal & Energy management
We develop system energy strategies in the concept and development phase as well as lifetime impact on the system. We are responsible for the development of the thermal system by optimizing the energy from the refrigerant, coolant and air systems. We maintain good climate comfort, manage cpl car thermal needs and meet the increased demand for improved cabin air quality. We consist of two teams: Energy Mgmt & controls and Thermal system & functions.
Motion Control
We develop Vehicle Motion Control functionality for current and future platform applications including realization in ECU and SW. We develop State-of-the-art Vehicle Motion concepts for electric autonomous drive level 4/5* as well as define use cases and motion attributes. We consist of five teams: Application Function SW Development, Controls Hardware & Basic Software, Motion System Design & Verification, Central Unit System Design & Verification and Vehicle Dynamic.
ADAS/AD
We integrate the AD L4 system, be the key technical interface towards customer/supplier and internally at CEVT, Robot taxi definition creation and cascading of requirements on subsystems. We integrate and secure compliance and customer demands for EU/US ADAS/AD L1-L3. as well as investigate future needs (Skills, Technology, …) on the way to L3/L4. We consist of two teams: ADAS and AD.
